Written and performed by Erin Holland and directed by Grace O'Keefe, The Queens of Cups draw upon their years as 20-something teachers in Bad Teacher, a dark comedy about the trials and tribulations a 20-something female teacher faces in a London-based Catholic Sixth Form College.
This one-woman show, inspired by real life experiences, will confront audiences with eye opening truths about gender politics, mental health, and the outrageous expectations that our current educational system sets for students and teachers alike. Evie, the titular teacher, takes audiences through each lesson, such as “Be Bold, Be Braless” and “Work Hard, Play Harder”, culminating in Parents evening.
The show incorporates music, poetry, and hardcore drum and bass. The groundbreaking script is unabashedly funny, unflinchingly realistic, and unashamedly female.
Bad Teacher will be going into previews at Camden Fringe in August 2021 before premiering at Underbelly Bristo Square at Edinburgh Fringe 2022. You can get tickets for Camden below.
